Customised Hitachi ZX35U-3 mini excavators prove the perfect solution
Established in March 2001, KK Civil Engineering has become a key player in all areas of civil engineering works for local government, state government and statutory utilities authorities.
The company specialises in a provision of services that ranges from road construction, concrete and asphalt works, to stormwater drainage and landscape services.
Hitachi ZX35U-3 mini excavators, fitted with hammer attachments, are surpassing all demands placed on them across KK Civil’s project sites. These machines are undertaking site restoration works and removal of existing damaged structures, backfilling, trim and compaction of sub-grade layers.
According to Koda Kassira, Director of KK Civil Engineering, “We find these excavators perfect for our works, which normally require tight access and minimal damage to adjacent infrastructure, such as nature strips and roads. To keep up with productivity demand, we are also looking to further expand our machinery range with the purchase of a John Deere skid steer, other Hitachi mini excavators and front end loaders,” added Koda.
The excellent performance and support of the Hitachi machinery has increased the ability of KK Civil to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. “The key features of the Hitachi mini that operators have been impressed with are their reliability, power, strength and maneuverability,” said Koda. “The hammer attachments on these machines offer us increased functionality when breaking out concrete paths, roads, kerbs and gutters.”
In conjunction with KK Civil and its project requirements, Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia has helped devise a solution to support onsite truck loading activities. This involved a modification to the bucket head angle to facilitate loading into high bodied trucks.
“We have built a close relationship with Jeff Fishlock at Hitachi, which has given us the confidence to deliver quality services and solutions to our customers,” said Koda.
“The purchase decision was easy with industry expertise and a great reputation guaranteed when dealing with Hitachi”.
