HITACHI SOCIAL INNOVATION FORUM 2017
Bringing businesses together to collaborate on innovative technologies and business solutions to address trends and challenges in society
Hitachi Limited’s unique Social Innovation Forum (HSIF) returned to Brisbane on Tuesday 28th November 2017, this time focusing on digital transformation in mining and agriculture. HSIF is a series of events held by Hitachi Limited to introduce its activities through presentations, panel discussions, exhibits and to share perspectives and visions as part of Hitachi’s efforts to promote collaborative creation. Social Innovation is about using innovative technologies and business solutions to address the key trends and challenges facing society.
This event was the third of its kind in the region, following the highly successful debut of HSIF in Sydney last year, and a second forum earlier this year in Brisbane focusing on transportation and public safety.
Hosted by Executive Vice President and Executive Officer of Hitachi, Ltd., Masakazu Aoki, the half-day forum at the Hilton Hotel Brisbane included keynote speeches by Keiko Yanai, Consul-General of Japan; Mark Dougan, Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand, Frost & Sullivan; and Gilberto Pauleta, Director, Construction, Forestry & Mining Sales, Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia Pty Ltd (HCA).
Following the opening plenary, guests were invited to attend two industry-specific panel sessions; Technology in Agriculture and Digital Transformation in Mining, which addressed how Hitachi and its stakeholders aim to bring positive change to individuals in Australian society through Social Innovation in the agriculture and mining sector.
Parallel to the speaker sessions guests had the opportunity to experience the Hitachi showcase consisting of seven zones – agriculture, mining including Wenco also on display, transportation, healthcare, education solutions, research & development, and IoT & analytics. Technologies on display included advanced drone services for mining and agriculture, Hitachi’s autonomous haulage system, precision agriculture and process intelligence.
HCA is proud to be a part of this annual collaborative event with our Hitachi sister companies in order to showcase the extent of our global companies intelligence.
