The Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE2018)
HCA showcases their presence in the recycling and waste industry
In August, Hitachi Construction Machinery Pty. Ltd. (HCA) attended Sydney’s only waste and recycling industry event, the Australasian Waste and recycling Expo (AWRE). The event was located at the International Convention Centre - ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour and has become the most respected showcase of effective, profitable and sustainable waste and recycling solutions on the Australian exhibition calendar.
Records were broken with double the attendees of the previous event entering within the first two hours of the opening day. Over the two days there were a total of 2461 visitors and Hitachi were amongst 120 exhibiting brands featured. A highlight was the speaker series headed by industry heavyweights like Anissa Levy, Acting Chair & CEO at NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and Dr John Williams, the UK’s leading plastics expert and Director at Aquapak Polymers. Speakers covered important topics such as recycling, sustainability and innovation in waste.
The Hitachi ZW180-5 wheel loader was showcased at the event, with a number of Sales Representatives from the company attending to meet and greet with customers. Through this HCA was able to demonstrate how the brand is making an impact in the waste and recycling industry.
Environmental sustainability was a significant focus for the event, with a goal of just 5% of the two-day event waste being sent to landfill. The AWRE, ICC Sydney and event partners worked together towards this target and lead a positive shift in behaviour within the industry.
HCA is looking forward to attending The Australasian Waste and Recycling Expo again on the 30th and 31st of October 2019.
