Apprenticeship
HCA’s market-leading apprenticeships run in conjunction with TAFE courses and align with the Government Australian Apprentices program. The program provides apprentices with hands-on experience and training to become a Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment (HVME) Mechanic and Automotive Electrician.
The practical apprentice programs are ideal for interested school students or mature age students and are available at all major HCA branches across Australia, in every state and territory.
Training
The training and education strategy focuses on guiding career pathways and development to suit our staffβs needs and the needs of the business.
Course offerings include qualifications and career path options for Service, Parts, Sales and Administrative roles, with topical areas including management, supervision, technical, customer service, and business systems compliance.

In the first shot, we have Andy, our dedicated Hitachi FS technician for the Canberra region, hard at work ensuring our machines are performing at their best. The second shot features my trusty HCA branded D-max out in the wild, ready for any challenge that comes its way. Our Canberra team is there to support you no matter how hard the job might be and we don`t mind getting our hands dirty.
We are proud of our team and the reliable equipment that keeps us moving forward.

Over the past few months, theyβve taken delivery of six new Hitachi machines, with one more on the way. Their fleet now boasts four models from the new 7-series range, including two ZX360LC-7 excavators and two ZW180-7 wheel loaders, plus a ZX225USLC-5 and a ZX17U-5 excavator. The ZX33U-5 excavator will be joining the fleet later this month.
