INTRODUCING THE EX8000-7

Newly introduced to the mining industry, the EX8000-7 is Hitachi’s largest standard backhoe excavator, guaranteeing the utmost power and force for incredibly demanding and challenging jobs. An industry pioneer for mining excavators with more than 100 years of experience across group companies, Hitachi EX8000-7 brings you advanced fuel optimisation technologies, state of the art safety features and a focus on easy maintenance and operation.

Weighing over 830 tonnes with a 43-48m3 bucket capacity, which can move 75 tonnes of dirt per bucket load, the flagship excavator comes with an option of a Cummins QSKTA60 or  MTU 12V4000 C33 diesel charged engine, generating 2x 1,450 kW (2x 1,944 HP) at 1,800 rpm. With a front attachment design that prioritizes performance, the EX8000-7 achieves superior productivity and reliable digging power across different mining profiles.

"Hitachi’s largest standard backhoe excavator..."

Hitachi EX800-7

The EX8000-7 excavator is engineered to tackle the most demanding jobs, whilst maintaining superior operator comfort. Taking the operator experience to new heights, featuring electronic joysticks, an intelligent multi-functional display, advanced air suspension seating and improved climate control.

“Delivering exceptional insights & empowering operations…”

Hitachi has a long standing commitment to the advancement of mining through digital innovation and connectivity. The EX8000-7 sees the most significant update being the extensive on-board sensors, diagnostic tools and advanced software delivering exceptional insights and empowering operations, to achieve any excavating task with proficiency and ease.

Another key improvement is the addition of the new electronic cylinder stroke controls that enable the signalling from angel sensors to the main frame, boom and arm. This controls the pump flow rate and cylinder speed, improving operator comfort and lowering impact on cylinders and structure for a more reliable operation.

Introducing the All-New EX8000-7

Designed with safety at the forefront, the EX8000-7 is one of the safest machines on the market featuring;

– An on-board inclinometer
– Improved machine access & ease of maintenance
– A dual isolator switch as standard
– Emergency escape chute
– Engine stop switching
– Optional perimeter monitoring cameras

Cutting edge technology and robust design come together to make EX8000-7 excavators the most durable. Featuring advanced computer modelling, specialised forgings and specially designed track shoes, are just some of the features to maximise longevity and contribute to lower operating costs.

With Hitachi’s EX8000-7, your site can achieve more than ever before!

Australia's highest-hour EX5600-7 has reached another significant milestone.

After more than 38,000 operating hours, the machine has undergone its first swing bearing replacement. The major component change completed safely and successfully by two dedicated crews.

The project was delivered with zero safety incidents, reflecting the planning, expertise and commitment of everyone involved throughout the change-out.

This milestone also marks 10 years since HCA’s designed and developed Elevation System first entered operation, highlighting the long-term durability and performance that continue to support mining operations across Australia.

A testament to the people, planning and equipment behind one of Australia's hardest-working EX5600-7 excavators.
Stepping up its game. 👢

This Hitachi ZX85USB-7 delivered to Specialized Digging Services (SDS) (@gb_diggs) shows what precision on-site can look like when paired with an engcon rotating wrist and full attachment setup.

From heavy digging work through to fine control tasks (like picking up a boot), this machine has been configured to handle more with minimal changeover time and greater flexibility on site.
Less repositioning. Fewer support machines. Better overall efficiency where it matters most.

Because capability is not only about power. It is about control.
"Reliability means delivering for our customers, not letting them down and keeping the wheels turning."

That's how Cameron Madeira, Operations Manager at ECORR, describes the role Hitachi equipment plays in their operation.

Processing thousands of tonnes of concrete every day, ECORR relies on a fleet of Hitachi excavators and wheel loaders to tackle one of Australia's toughest working environments. From separating steel and concrete to keeping crushers fed and material moving, reliability isn't optional—it's essential.

We're proud to support ECORR as they continue their mission to be leaders in the recycling industry.

Throwback to our 2025 Construction Equipment Sales Conference - where the team got hands-on with the machines they talk about every day. 👷‍♂️💥

From walkarounds to machine demos, it was a chance for our Construction Equipment Sales Representatives to get up close with the gear, share knowledge and sharpen their understanding of the products supporting customers across Australia.

Because selling equipment is one thing. Knowing it inside and out is another. 👊
Look after the big fella and the big fella looks after you.

This King's Birthday, a reminder worth holding onto. The machines that lead your fleet for the longest are the ones backed by proper servicing, genuine parts, and a team that knows them down to the bolt.

Treat your equipment with that standard, and it rewards you with uptime, resale value, and years of reliable work.
