Production of the highly anticipated Bell Motor Grader range is planned to start in Q3 2025 for Stage 3 developing markets. Designed to meet the evolving needs of the industry, the new machines promise to deliver high productivity and precision accurate control with superior operator station ergonomics and visibility. According to Hitachi Product Manager, David Gallina, the team at Hitachi is thrilled to introduce the Bell Motor Grader to the Australian market – a product that combines Bell Equipment’s 70 years of manufacturing heritage with Hitachi’s global distribution strength and technical support network.
Speaking from Hitachi’s Australian headquarters, Gallina shared his excitement:
“We’ve been keeping a close eye on the development of this product, and now that we’ve seen its real-world performance and reliability, we’re confident it will hit the mark in Australia’s demanding conditions. Our customers expect durability, precision, and low total cost of ownership – and the Bell Grader delivers across all three fronts.”
A Robust Grader for Australia and Beyond
Powered by Proven Components
The graders are fitted with Cummins engines and ZF transmissions – a combination that ensures long-term serviceability and parts availability across the country. The G140 runs a 6.7L Cummins with a ZF ERGOPOWER transmission, while the G160 and G200 feature a powerful 9L Cummins engine with ZF’s hydro-mechanical cPOWER transmission.
Gallina notes:
“These machines were built for uptime. The engines are Stage 3A certified and compatible with alternative fuels like HVO and B20 biodiesel – a strong plus as the industry moves toward more sustainable operations. Stage 5 versions will be available soon for markets with tighter emissions regulations.”
Built with the Operator and Owner in Mind
From a fully sealed slew ring circle to simplified diagnostics, the Bell Motor Grader emphasizes low maintenance and easy daily operation. The sealed circle eliminates the need for regular adjustments and ensures consistent grading quality – critical for reducing downtime in remote regions.
“Grader operators are some of the most skilled in our industry – and also the most discerning,” says Gallina. “That’s why Bell focused so heavily on achieving the right operating feel and ergonomics. Whether you’re using the antler controls or joysticks, this machine feels right.”
Hitachi and Bell – A Strategic Partnership
Gallina concluded:
“It’s exciting to be part of a collaboration where a globally respected OEM like Bell has engineered something this good – and we at Hitachi get to be the ones bringing it to Australian soil. We’re not just launching another grader – we’re introducing a new benchmark. And we can’t wait to show our customers what it can do.”
For more information and a closer look, the Bell Motor Grader will be on display at the 2025 Local Government Works Association Conference and Expo, held at Joondalup Resort, Connolly from 5 to 7 August 2025.

At 11 am, we pause.
Two minutes to remember the men and women who served, those who never returned home, and those who carried their scars long after the guns fell silent.
Today, we honour their courage, their sacrifice, and the freedom they safeguarded.
Lest we forget.
